Not only was Blue Ivy, the infant daughter of mega-music couple Beyonce and Jay-Z, featured on a song before she could even walk (Jay-Z’s “Glory”), but now, she has also been named an honorary citizen of a place she’s never even been to. Yahoo News Malaysia reports
that Mayor Pjerino Bebic of Hvar, Croatia has officially granted baby Blue the status of honorary citizen of the “sunniest town in Croatia,” thanks to the media attention and great tourism promotion mama B’s pregnancy brought to the town. For those unaware, late last summer, while Beyonce was still pregnant with Blue, the two vacationed in Croatia, and while there, Jay-Z filmed a bare-bellied Beyonce in front of a “blue” tree in Hvar. Bebic issued the honor in an open letter to the couple.
Blue Ivy, born in January, was reportedly named after a tree wrapped in blue ivy the couple had seen in Hvar during their visit in September 2011, shortly after they announced Beyonce's pregnancy.
